Marco Island & Estero Bay Fishing Report 12-04-15
A few cold fronts have invaded Southwest Florida and while they are much frowned upon by the beach-goers, the fishermen are in a holiday state of bliss. Water temperatures are hovering in the "sweet spot" of 70-79 degrees and multiple species of game fish, baitfish and the entire eco-system has turned on. Trout have come inshore in droves, with upper and over slot fish in the mix, with limits readily available and are being caught on a myriad of techniques. Silver Trout, he lesser cousin of the Spotted Sea Trout, are starting to bunch up in schools and you can fill the box quite quickly on these tasty appetizers. Redfish and snook have set up in their usual winter time haunts and a few tarpon have started to show up on the warmer afternoons. Spanish Mackeral, the occasional drag screaming King Mackeral, rod-bending Jack Crevalles, Bonitas, Bluefish and arguably the largest ladyfish you have ever seen have invaded the nearshore waters. It's a multi-species time and the time is now to be fishing! Give us a call today to book your trip!
