Captain Steve Dall grew up fishing in the Lake County area lakes north of Chicago and then periodically ventured north to the world famous Vilas County area of the northwoods of Wisconsin with family and friends. His Tom Sawyer-esque adventures had him battling the muskies, bass and walleyes that inhabited the fertile glacier lakes of the north. It was here that his passion for fishing truly erupted from a childhood addiction to a career in the fishing industry. At the age of 19, he scraped together enough money and purchased his first boat and conducted his first guiding job later that year. At 20, Steve became a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain for the Inland Waters and Great Lakes of the Midwest, licensed both in the state of Wisconsin and Illinois. As the years passed Steve’s addiction and intrigue for the pursuit of the king of freshwater, the Musky and his passion for Bass fishing pushed him to focus exclusively for this quarry with his clients. While cutting his teeth in the guiding world, Steve became a respected guide, educator, writer and speaker in the Midwest.

Steve’s angling passion and pursuit of a year-round guiding venture, relocated him to Southwest Florida after the turn of the new millennium, where he has spent his time primarily targeting the indigenous inshore species of Tarpon, Snook, Sea Trout and Redfish. The vast estuaries of Estero Bay, the 10,000 Islands along with Naples Bay and Marco Island area waters offers the finest fishing in the world. Whether it is the near-shore wrecks, the labrynth of mangrove islands or the vast, shallow water grass flats, he can put you on a variety of species. While fishing, it is not uncommon for us to see soaring eagles, ospreys, egrets, herons, dolphins and manatees breaking the water’s surface.

The unique versatility of his knowledge and his boat’s capabilities allows him to fish the shallowest flats and bays to near offshore structures and open water in the Gulf of Mexico. Steve is a member of the Coastal Conservation Association, Florida Guides Association and has contributed to the Florida Wildlife Commission’s Tarpon Genetic Recapture Program which enables Steve and his clients to take DNA samples of the tarpon caught and submit non-harming DNA samples to the FWC for genetic research. His never ending passion for the spirit of competition is satisfied by still competing in tournaments for redfish and largemouth bass. Steve is a licensed Captain by the United States Coast Guard for inland waters, inshore waters and near-shore fishing off the Florida coast and while the primary focus is the 10,000 Islands, depending on the bite and conditions, you may find yourself fishing with him in the margarita colored waters of Marco Island, Naples Bay, Estero Bay or Sanibel Island.

Captain Steve's approach to your trip is simple: Putting you in the best position to catch fish and provide you with the most enjoyable day on the water you can have.
