Backcountry is heating up!

We have been out now 9 of the last 10 days and have moved our focus south to the Marco Island area recently as Estero Bay has been hit or miss as of late, but picking back up the last few days. The backwaters have been loaded with snook and on Saturday, we had 2 fish pushing 30 inches and another pushing 40 that tipped the scales just shy of 16 lbs (pictured)

Near 16 lb backcountry snook!

The redfish have been a bit slower than usual, but we are being rewarded with nearly all mid to upper slot fish when they decide to play. Estero Bay has been on fire with trout action and should continue throughout the month of June.

Hands down, Tristan is one of the best fishermen to board my boat!

All species have been hitting a variety of soft plastics including Gulp shrimp, assorted paddle tail baits and soft jerkbaits, along with ladyfish, shrimp and pilchards. The tarpon are moving steadily out of the area, but some resident fish still remain and have been popping in to say hi on the right tides. Until we share a boat, tight lines and good fishing!
