FLW Tour Event comes to Okeechobee…
Next week I am heading back to Lake Okeechobee to tackle the largemouth bass that inhabit it's famed waters in hopes of a little redemption. I am fishing the FLW Tour Open Tournament on the "Big O" and this is the highest level of competition you can fish. As you may know, I finished in 11th place out of 164 anglers last month in the FLW Everstart Series here and while that was fantastic, it was bitter sweet as I finished 1 lousy ounce of 10th place and could have fished for the top billing on the 3rd day. So, with optimism racing through my blood, I am excited to say the least. I take off Tuesday for the event registration and meeting, then we fish Wednesday and Thursday all day....they add our Day 1 and Day 2 weights together and then the top 20 weights fish on Friday for the top prize....I have never been more confident going in to a tournament and as always, while a top 20 would be great, I simply am there to have a fun, learn and cash a check.
