FLW BFL Gator Division- Tournament 2, Harris Chain

March 19, 2010 - Posted by Steve Dall Now that a busy flurry of fishing is somewhat behind me, I thought I would take a moment to get everyone caught up on my progress. On March 13th, I fished the 2nd of 5 FLW BFL tournaments which was held on the Harris Chain of Lakes, which, isn’t my favorite body of water as it typically doesn’t set up well with my strengths, but hey, you have to fish it. I ended up in 78th place out of 145 at this event, which put me in 68th place after the first two events with 3 more to go. As I have mentioned, I need to finish in the top 40 after the 5 tournaments in order to qualify for the Regional tournament in October on Lake Seminole, which is on the Florida/Georgia border. I would certainly like to be in the top 40 now, but I am definitely encouraged how the remaining 3 tournament’s schedules play out. The next tournament is on April 17th on Lake Okeechobee, which is my home water and my absolute favorite place to fish. I just seem to do well there consistently. What is good, is that the 4th tournament is there as well in May. Last year in April I took 10th place with only 4 fish, so given that the weather should be about the same for this tournament, I am pretty confident I know where they are at, what they are doing and what they will eat. We can only hope. After that tournament, I am going to take some time off and enjoy fishing away from the tournament circuit. My friend Joe and I are going to visit a friend of ours April 22-25 who guides up on Lake Guntersville in northern Alabama. Guntersville is a fish factory and I am like a kid on Christmas morning right now thinking about it. Good times. Until next time, heavy bags and tight lines…..
