3rd Place and Big Bass Award to start 2010…
My 2010 tournament season is off to a good start! My partner and I fished a local team tournament this past Saturday and took a respectable 3rd place and won Big Bass of the tournament! We received a few trophies and a nice check for our efforts! We fished for bedding fish with Berkley Powerbait 5” Shaky Worms in Blue Grass color and Gitem Baits Sugars in Junebug/Silver color. We had a 5 fish limit of 12 pounds 8 ounces, anchored by a slob of bass that weighed 5 pounds, 11 ounces. I’ll be posting pictures of the weigh in and trophies this week. Next up for me is a busy next couple weeks…..I have the first of five FLW BFL tournaments on January 20th up on the Kissimmee Chain and then head directly to Lake Okeechobee for the FLW American Fishing Series (formerly the Stren Series) that is taking place February 25-27 where first place is $15,000. I bombed at this tournament last year, so some redemption is in store for me. I then take 2 weeks off and then head to Tavares, Florida for the second of the five FLW BFL tournaments. I receive points based on how I finish in each of the 5 tournaments and need to finish in the top 40 after all 5 tournaments are added up to qualify for the FLW BFL Regional Championship at Lake Seminole in October….if I finish in the top 5 there, I qualify for the grand daddy…the FLW BFL All American where I fish for $100,000!….
